Rosebud

about

Parts of this song were first imagined where the cover photo was taken. This one's primarily about how I feel like we as a society are getting more and more dysfunctional.

lyrics

it's like we're running out of everything
attention is at a loss
common sense is in a sling
we'd choose to walk across...
a barely frozen ocean
you don't know what's to come
if you refuse the potion
you are made to seem so dumb

I need it all to stop
it's prickled like a rose
staring at the top of the ground
nothing here can grow...

and now I'm driving down the highway
where the road slips down by the bay
I see a family of ducks try to cross the street
they start to walk along the concrete
one of the chicks doesn't make it through
and the trucker that killed him has no clue
how can he live knowing what he did?
watching through the tears in my eyelid
